A Worcester auctioneer will be taking centre stage this week – as he’s been chosen to be a judge at this year’s Royal Show.
Clive Roads, who is McCartneys’ auctioneer at Worcester Market, has been given the task of judging the Interbreed Sheep Pairs at the famous show at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire.
“It’s a great honour to be asked to judge at the Royal Show,” said Clive. “I’ve already judged cattle and sheep classes at many of the county shows, so I should know what I’m doing! But The Royal Show is such a prestigious event I’m sure there’ll be some butterflies when I step out into the ring. It might be nerve-wracking, but I’m really looking forward to the day.”
Clive has been chosen as a judge by the Royal Agricultural Society of England because he’s considered an expert in his field. Through his work at Worcester and Brecon markets he’s gained a great deal of experience in pedigree sales, dealing with most breeds of sheep.
The Royal Show is at Stoneleigh Park from Thursday 3rd July to Sunday 6th July.
