Personal Information

Katie joined McCartneys in August 2008 after graduating with a first class honours degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management from Harper Adams University College. Under the guidance of the firm Katie qualified as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) in December 2009 and also passed her examination to become a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (FAAV) in November 2009. Katie is based at the Knighton Office and Livestock Market where she undertakes a full range of professional work including Single Payment Scheme matters and entitlement trading, agri-environment scheme and grant applications, compulsory purchase and compensation claims, agricultural planning appraisals, agricultural tenancy matters, letting of land on grazing and FBT agreements, sales of land and property, valuations as well as assisting in the livestock market.

A local girl, Katie is a farmer’s daughter from Llangunllo, where she enjoys helping on the farm. She is a keen member of Knighton Young Farmers Club, being a past secretary. Always willing to have a go she has been lucky enough to achieve success in a variety of competitions from flower arranging to public speaking and stockjudging. Her proudest moments being winning the Welsh Black cattle judging at the Royal Welsh Show in 2004, the Butchers Lambs judging at the Royal Welsh Show Winter Fair in 2006 and winning Radnor YFC Senior Stockman of the Year in 2008.
